Gorizontalnyy (horizontal)

Gorizontalnyy (horizontal) geyser is the furthest from the tourist center among of the big geysers of the Valley. It is located 35 meters upstream the river from Velikan and Zhemchuzhnyy geysers. Only medium and small geysers and pulsating springs are located upstream it.

Powerful jet of steam/water mix goes up to 10 meters at 45° angle, shooting across Geyzernaya river. Geyser's cycle is stable and lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Filling lasts for 70 minutes, discharge — 30 minutes. Eruption time is 2 minutes.

Geyserite structure of Gorizontalnyy is uneven, resembling a melted candle. It's adjacent to the left bank of Geyzernaya river. Vent is located about 2 meters above water level. Vent hole is around 50x40 centimeters.

There are a lot of small geysers and hot springs on a steep slope around Gorizontalnyy. Their geyserite structures are hidden in dense grass. Tatyana Ustinova referred to this place as a "slope of dwarf geysers".

Gorizontalnyy geyser cannot be seen from existing viewing platforms, and hence rarely being visited by tourists. Howevere, fountain size and unusual eruption type would put it among the most famous geysers of the Valley.
