Krasnyy (red) Mudpot is the largest mudpot in the Valley of Geysers. Its size is 17x12 meters, and it's 2 meters deep. Walls and the floor of the pot are composed of red clay that gave the mudpot its name.
To be precise, it's not one, but two closely located mudpots fused together. The smaller one has its own name Novobranets (recruit). During strong rainfall, water fills the pot full, turning it in a small thermal lake. In dry weather, water level drops and the pot splits in two. Sometimes it dries almost completely and only a small amount of mud bubbles on its floor.
There are a few of smaller mudpots located nearby. This area is sometimes being referred to as a Mudpots Platform.
