Birch of the Valley of Geysers

Birch of the Valley of Geysers is a big Erman's Birch (lat. — Betula ermanii) that grows near the Mudpots Platform. Even patch of land near this birch is one of the best places to set tents in the central part of the Valley.

Back in a day the Valley of Geysers discoverers Tatyana Ustinova and Anisifor Krupenin set their camp here. During the uncontrolled tourism era this area was actively used by tourists. This particular birch can be seen in many photos and became one of the symbols of the Valley of Geysers.

Of course today no one camps on the Valley's thermal grounds. Inspectors, tourists and scientists stay in the cottages by the Visitor Center. And for a daily tours there are wooden paths and observation decks.
