Zhemchuzhnyy (pearl)

Zhemchuzhnyy (pearl) geyser is one of the most beautiful in the Valley. It's located not far from Velikan and erupts every 3 hours 40 minutes. Fountain is evenly shaped with large sparkling sprays, shooting 5—6 meters high. Eruption lasts for several minutes, allowing even an inexperienced photographer to take great pictures.

Geyser's vent is decorated by a natural fancy stone construction half a meter high. Stones are covered with grey pearl-like geyserite, that gave the geyser its name. Zhemchuzhnyy's vent is located 6 meters above Geyzernaya river. During the eruption, boiling water runs down the slope, covered with a geyserite shield.

Unfortunately, it's hard to see Zhemchuzhnyy well from the existing observation decks, so it's impossible for an average tourist to take pictures of this geyser upclose. Even so, mesmerizing symmetrical eruption of this geyser often becomes a reward for those who couldn't witness Velikan's eruption during the tour time.
