About / Team
This is the web site of a project "Virtual Valley of Geysers". The project is aimed to development of the virtual 3D model of the Valley of Geysers in Kamchatka, Russia. We want everybody to get full information about the Valley of Geysers
and to have a chance to travel virtually to this unique place.
We are now working on two versions of the model. Free Internet model based on open KML format is available on the web site. Detailed stereo 3D model is optimized for stereoscopic projection systems and 3D displays.
Project is run by a distributed team of enthusiasts. We are supported by the Kronotsky Natural State Biosphere Reserve (Elizovo, Kamchatka region, Russia), the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, Far Eastern Branch of Russian Academy of Science (IVaS FEB RAS, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Kamchatka region, Russia), the Kamchatkan Experimental and Methodical Seismological Department, Geophysical Service of Russian Academy of Science (KEMSD GS RAS, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Kamchatka region, Russia), the Vavilov Institute for the History of Science and Technology of the RAS (IHST RAS, Moscow), the Institute of Computing for Physics and Technology (ICPT, Protvino, Moscow region, Russia), the R&D Center ScanEx (Moscow, Russia), and also the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR, Moscow, Russia).
We wish to say thank you to all people participating in the project and supporting us.
